Sunday Worship at Christ Church
8 am - Holy Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer: a said service, lasting around half an hour, with a sermon of around 7 minutes.
10 am - Family Communion takes place on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays using the Book of Common Worship. The service has an organ, singing and Children's activities and lasts an hour to an hour and a quarter. Refreshments served afterwards
In school term, a Sunday School for 3 - 11 yr olds meets in rooms in the church during the 10 am service, joining the adults for communion. Parents can go in with their children if they would like. A Youth Group for 11-14 yr olds meets twice a term. There is also a children's corner with toys, books and colouring equipment for children of all ages in the main body of the church and toilet and nappy-changing facilities are available.
10 am - Sung Matins according to the Book of Common Prayer takes place on a 5th Sunday.
3.30 pm - Tots' Teatime Church (TTC) is on the second Sunday of the month and lasts about an hour. It is a relaxed, informal service for the under-fives with a Bible story, craft, music and refreshments.
6.30 pm - Sung Evensong with four hymns, psalm and canticles to Anglican chant, and a sermon, lasting about an hour.
Morning and Evening Prayers are said Monday to Thursday at Christ Church at 9.00am and 3.30pm
There will be a short service of Compline at 7pm, usually on the second Wednesday of the month but please check the notice sheet for details
Holy Communion is celebrated at Chiswick House on the first Thursday of the month and at Hawthorns Nursing Home on the third Tuesday of the month.
This is the usual pattern of services but we have special services e.g. At Christmas and Easter Time.
